Crazy Crafters March Blog Hop Punch Art

Wow this year is travelling by so fast!  March is here already... This months theme frightened the heck out of me.  I don't normally DO punch art but thought I'd give it a go.  This month is hosted by the gorgeous and amazingly talented Carolina at Studio Evans.

If you have got here in order you should have just left stop 9 which was of course the faboo Michelle Mills.  If not its all good you can work your way around the hop starting from here.  Have a blast and be sure to comment on all the blogs.

So this is my creation... I started with whisper white to make my prototype, I have never done anything punch art so was surprised how easy it was.  I just got the large oval punch punched it out in full, then I used the cut out and cut it again with the same punch on a different angle, I chose this angle because I already had in mind the idea of it jumping out of water.  I used the scraps to make the fins then used the small oval punch to feed the snout in one side of to make it rounded. the tail I punched a oval again and used the decorative label punch to make it look just right.  I then sponged all the pieces and stuck them together using sticky strip and made an eye with basic grey stamp-n-write marker.
I set up my white card base, then cut some basic black card to fit the front.  Stamped the image from the love you to the moon stamp set with the white craft pad.  Smudged some into the moon with a sponge to make the moon softer.  Then smudged/ sponged in the 'reflection' on the water.  I then adhered the dolphin and voila!
Notice I used my prototype for my final result, I fell in love with it as soon as it was finished lol.
I hope you all love it too.
Next up on the hop is Karen Coulter, be sure to drop back in again soon :)
