Crazy crafters November blog hop

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop for November. This month we are excited to show off our "Most used stamp sets".
We hope you find great inspiration from the projects.

You may just be starting the hop here at my blog - Tamie Holt or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects. At the moment you are visiting Tamie Holt .

This month is your most used stamp set. Mine without a doubt has to be papillon potpourri so that is what i have used for my card along with the Just for you stamp set and the designer label punch.

It is a very special ladies birthday soon, known affectionately in our family as Mummum, who doesn't celebrate birthdays herself but I wanted to make her something to let her know we are still thinking of her.  I love it and hope she loves it too :)

The photos are a bit off I'm sorry I took the photos tonight and there is a storm blowing in (was at the beach today with the 7 kids and two grandbabies, hence mine being half hour late... this last one I took inside so you can see the sparkles I put on the wings and centres of the butterflies.  There is dazzling diamonds heat embossed on the flowers too.

Well I hope you enjoy your journey along the blog hop and be sure to leave comments as the girls love to hear from their visitors about their creations.

September blog hop

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Bog Hop for August. This month our theme is the Newly released (September 1) Holiday Cataloge. We hope you find great inspiration from our projects. Get your pen, drink and wish-list ready! You may be just starting the blog hop here at my blog - Tamie Holt or may have come from the person previous to me in the list below. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects. At the moment you are visiting Tamie Holt. I haven't done any crafting in a while, family life has been taking up a lot of time, so I was out of my groove, had no idea what to make so decided the first thing I picked up off my desk that was unopened would be what I used.... That happened to the the Hearth and Home Framelit Dies. So I cut it out in Whisper White and then proceeded to make the 'view'on a piece of cardstock. I saw it while driving the car, well not exactly i was driving down the road not in the water, it was more the colours that I loved. So anyhoo I stuck my window to my view and then the trouble started.... What colour is my room meant to be??? Very Vanilla, nope boooring, Pink Pirouette, nope a bit girly. Finally settled on Pool Party because it made me feel warm and happy. Sentiment OMG, well long story short I went rummaging on my desk for more unopened/ unused product and found the Thinking of You stamp out of the Embellished Ornaments stamp set, it was stamped in Daffodil Delight shadowed with Pink Pirouette. I grabbed a bit of Bermuda Bay Bakers twine and made the sentiment into a wall frame. I used a small brad to 'hang'it off. Well that's my creation for this month, I hope you liked it or maybe got some ideas from it. Be sure to hop all of the way through the blog hop and check out everyones creativity.

Until next time stay well and happy crafting.  Tam xx

This one I got a little smart and used two bundles the Watercolour Wings again and the Six Sided Sampler Bundle.

Colour Me... Creative Wisteria Wonder

So this is my first entry in the Colour Me challenge and what a week to join... I LOVE WISTERIA WONDER! Sorry for shouting but you might notice I love Purple lol. I went pretty simple with this card. I stamped the Perfect Peacock stamp with Versamark and embossed with Silver Embossing Powder. I coloured in with Wisteria Wonder ink pad and a Blender Pen in a single coat for the larger part of the feathers and twice over for the 'eye' of them. the sentiment was done in Wisteria Wonder too and it was from the Butterfly Basics stamp set. Finished off with a rhinestone for the dot one the I.
can you spot what else I added to the card to make it pop
That's right I used the crystal effects on the eye of the feathers. What do you think, does it make it pop do you think? Anyway I hope you like my card. And until next time stay well and happy crafting Tam xx

Mojo Monday #409

Yay I am back again for another weeks challenge with Mojo Monday #409. I really do struggle with DSP and am trying to force myself to use it because I love the designs so much. Normally I try to keep everything I use in the challenges current but this week I decided to use the retired Cannery Framelits, and I am hanging my head in shame here as it is actually the first time I have EVER used it (slaps own hand) I hope you like it. It is certainly something a little different from what I normally create so please leave comments on your opinion and suggestions to improve :). The DSP I used is Farmers Market, I used several different sheets out of the pack. I stamped with Old Olive for the sentiment and to sponge the 'jar'. Early Espresso Bakers Twine was used for the lid ribbon
and no the peach isn't a stamp, I cut it out of the DSP, Isn't it exquisite!!!!
Well until next time happy crafting and stay well Tam xx

Challenges #8 and #256

Good Morning folks! I am finally back at my crafting table today after a bit of a break, I've been off making fences and greenhouses and grassing the yard etc to make it a bit more functional and pretty :). So the first thing I thought I would do on my return was participate in a challenge or two.
So this post is incorporating two challenges.... Stamp Ink Paper and The Paper Players challenges. The Stamp Ink Paper #8 challenge was a '├Łour Choice'and The Paper Players #256 was 'It's Hip to be Square' So here is my project...
It is a square card using Melon Mambo and Whisper White with a tiny bit of Blushing Bride and a bit of Dazzling Details Silver Glitter along with a few Basic Rhinestones to finish off the card.
All stamping was done from the Hostess set Best Thoughts. The butterfly and sentiment were stamped with Melon Mambo but the flower was done with Versamark and Melon Mambo Embossing Powder. I coloured the flower using Blender Pens with Blushing Bride and then did the centres with a little Melon Mambo. I hope you like it
I think this is one of my favorite sets at the moment, i just LOVE colouring in!

Well until next time I hope you all stay well and happy crafting Tam xx Well that was an oops for me, I always forget that the deadlines are for the US and I am in Australia lol. So I didn't get to add it to the lineup for the Paper Players, there's always next week right ;)

Mojo monday 408

Hi everyone, I've been making the Mojo Monday projects for four weeks now and this is only the second one I have blogged, terribly lazy, well not lazy busy busy busy! So I hope you like this project.  Number 408 is tall and skinny, it is not something I normally do as all of my cards are generally the same size, so this was different and cool to do.

I am not a big user of DSP but in this project I have used some, to the effect that I have only used one stamped image and that was for the sentiment. The stamp comes from the Work of Art set, which I absolutely love!  I am slowly learning blender pens but it is still very much trial and error, so if you are having trouble mastering these don't worry you are not alone xx

Well until next time stay well and happy crafting xx Tam

Mojo monday 403

Hi everyone, it is with great excitement that I do up my very first ever Mojo Monday blog post.  I have seen ladies in our group do these and thought it looked like fun.  However I have always doubted if I have the time and more so the Talent as all the creations I have seen have been amazing!  Anyhoo I thought about it over and over for quite a while and then I decided that I love what I do and what I make so surely someone else will enjoy it too.  So the entry is for Mojo Monday 403. Anyway enough chatting let's go have a look at what I have made.
So for the card base I used very vanilla card stock.  I added a layer of Elegant Eggplant cardstock then for the feature of the Layout I layered up Delightful Dijon on top of Very Vanilla, and then Mint Macaron DSP on top of very vanilla cardstock.  Finally I wanted to use a doily but to my horror realized the die is no-longer current (insert vary sad face here) so instead I took forever to freehand scallop edged circle just big enough to go over the sides of the previous layer in Elegant Eggplant cardstock and used that as a template to cut around in Very Vanilla, talk about doing things the hard way lol.

Then I got down to the prettying it up, seriously why not right lol.  So I measured out a length of White Jute Ribbon (3.2cm) and cut it approx. in half down the length of the ribbon. And also cut a length of Sahara Sand Lace Trim (2.2cm), I layered the Jute on Top of the Trim and did the little cuts on the end (is there a technical term for this? No idea lol).  This wad adhered on top of the Delightful Dijon layer.  Next was the Basic Pearls, I used the largest one and spaced them on every second scallop.  The flowers, tell me about the flowers I hear you saying.... The flowers are done using the Tip Top Taupe DSP out of the In Color DSP stack.  I will do a video soon and set up a you tube page thingy up and going so I do up instructions on a lot of projects that I do and Any requests I might get from you all :).

Anyway I hope you like my first entry and be sure to check back often as I do posts as regularly as time allows in my crazy house.

Until next time stay well and happy crafting Tamie xxx

Time management

Hi everyone, I still alive and very apologetic, I said I wsa going to try to post daily or every second day at least and I haven't.  Like many others Stampin' Up! isn't my only love,  I love gardening and succulents is a collection that I am currently working on, so I thought I'd do a post letting you know that I haven't just been being slack lol.

The pic below is of a set of steps that I have been uncovering (I know no succulents there), because I needed the little rocks that are in amongst it all - don't you just hate having to one job so you can do the one you really want to do....?

But I think it was worth it.  I haven't finished yet as it need much more rock mulch, and of course many more succulents to buy to fill the spaces lol

Anyhoo I can't have a post without also blogging about something SU! related... So here is a card I have made for a beautiful friend of mine that I have known since I was in High School who has recently celebrated a birthday.  I hope she loves it as much as I do, she loves all old china trio sets etc so I think I have got it right :)

This card has been done on a crumb bake card stock base and I layered it up using the lovely new colour Delightful Dijon and another layer of crumb cake, I stamped onto the top layer of crumb cake using Watermelon Wonder and Tip Top Taupe (both new inColors too) and while it gave the texture I wanted I didn't like the brightness/ starkness it gave so layered it up with a piece of vellum which softened it while still letting the colour through, The sets used in this layer were the dots from Awesomely Artistic and the texture stamp from You Got this, both are new releases.

For the main image of this set I used the printed image from the new DSP Timeless Elegance.  I added colour using the Blender Pen and used a little of each of the new inColors, I am still learning how to use these pens but am loving how they work to create such beautiful effects.  I hand tore the paper and sponged with some Tip Top Taupe and Delightful Dijon to make it look a little aged and distressed the edges.  I also roughly tore a piece of Mint Macaron dsp from the inColour paper collection, I stamped it with the same stamp from the You Got This stamp set and distressed and sponged the same as the flower layer.

To Finish the Card I used the new (gorgeous!) dotted lace trim that has come out in the new inColors, here I have used the Delightful Dijon and on top of it added the Sahara Sand Lace Trim.  To give a little more effect I added some Watercolour Wonder to it using the Blender Pen (if you decide to do this make sure not to make it too wet as it runs (ask me how I know lol).  Next was just to layer it all up with Snail Adhesive and some glue dots and add the Basic Pearls to Embellish.

So that's my post for today, I hope I can be forgiven for taking time out to do my little garden up, it's still a work in progress but I will try to better manage my time so as to not break promises again.  Be sure to leave a comment, I love getting feedback, good or not so good :). and as always if you are interested in any of the products used be sure to contact me either through my store or on here...

Until next time happy crafting Tamie xx

Oh one last thing that I was thinking about... please scroll down and look at my old projects from previous posts, you will find blog hops etc in there and many other creations I have made, thanks again for dropping by and I'll see you again soon xx

Awesomely Artistic

So Today it was brought to my attention that there is not enough samples made up with the new stamp set that only became available for purchase on June 2 (I know, I'm still impatiently waiting for my box of new goodies!), that set being Awesomely Artistic... Last post I used it for my second card and a lovely lady posted a pic of it on a news feed that I am not a part of but a friend of mine is and she showed it to me,  so.... Beth Hein-Wilhelm thank you so much for your praise and here is a few cards made up today especially for you :).  When I had my craft day with Michelle I made sure I ha a sheet of stamped images to go home with but hadn't got around to playing with them yet, so thank you for the motivation.

I won't go into a lot of detail of what I have used for each card, however if you want to know more you are free to contact me and I will get back to you as soon as I am able :)

So this one I used the Awesomely Artistic flower, and the sentiment came from the Something to Say stamp set, the colours used were So Saffron, Chocolate Chip and Wild Wasabi.  I used linen thread, burlap ribbon and basic pearls (the ones that all stick together) to embellish this card.

Again this time I used the Awesomely Artistic set, I do apologise that I used retired DSP but alas my box with the new colour packs in are not here yet, and dang the Queens Birthday because I have to wait until Tuesday now lol.  The colours used in this set are Cajun Craze and Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake DSP.  I don't know if everyone is in love with this dragonfly as much as I am, but jinkeys it's awesome!!!

This card is a little different as I had run out of stamped images of the flower (everyone say awwww), so I did something a little different... I used the leaves, texture stamp, dragonfly and little disc stamped images from the Awesomely Artistic set, but obviously that wasn't enough so I added  some splatter stamping to the card front in Cajun Craze and Crumb Cake with stamp from Gorgeous Grunge stamp set then layered it all up adding the flower and the fern fronds from the Butterfly Basics stamp set.  I used a simple little bit of linen thread to embellish and that's it.

So I hope you all liked these, especially you Beth, and I'd love to hear from you all your thoughts on my designs and techniques I use.  If ever you would like a specific style, technique or product used be sure to leave me a comment and I will do my best to get it done :).

So until next time folks Happy crafting xx :)

crazy crafters may blog hop sneak peak

Well folks welcome back top this months edition of the crazy crafters blog hop.  This month the theme is Sneak Peak, in anticipation of the new catalogue that is to be released WORLDWIDE June the 2nd.... eeeek.

So this month I didn't get to order any of the things for the sneak peek, yes I know sad face :( lol.  However I was lucky enough to attend Inspire Create Share on the Gold Coast so I did get a few freebies from there that I could use.... yippie.  Also I had a crafty day with my beautiful friend Michelle at Hello Day Cards and I got to use her stamp set that she got at the managers meeting ( OMG I love it!!!!), and it wasn't on the preorder list so I got to use something only a few of the ladies in our team have, lucky lucky.  Anyway that's enough chit chat.  I have two cards here to show you.  So lets have a look

One that I made at home with the Bohemian DSP that we got at convention and the stamp set we also received there also called I Think You're Great.  The Colour used for stamping the main image and both the sentiment and the background for the sentiment was Blackberry Bliss.  I also used the Hardwood stamp set which I stamped with Chocolate Chip ink,  I then got a dry baby wipe and rubbed the stamped dsp image with Craft White ink to make the colour a little more subtle.
The script stamp behind the sentiment is from the By The Tide stamp set, and the sentiment is from the Sassy Salutations stamp set.  I used an antique Brad which I cut the back off (careful it's sharp and will cut you, don't ask..) and then stuck to the sentiment strip which I had layered up with the dsp off cuts and raised up with dimensionals.  This was all then stuck to the Very Vanilla Card Base with Snail Adhesive.

Next up is a card with a thought... When I was preparing to leave convention I saw this beautiful little blue dragonfly that I took a picture of and knew that as soon as June 2 came around I was going to buy the Awesomely Artistic stamp set and make the wings with the plastic sheeting that you get with the photopolymer to make the little see through bits of their wings.
Anyways cast your eyes downwards and we shall take a look .

So I have a Whisper White Card base, a piece of Whisper White that I stamped with the Hardwood stamp using the Soft Suede Ink and then sponged with Crumb Cake Next up I used the hession piece of the Awesomely Artistic set that was stamped in Memento and then gone over with a stamp n write Blackberry Bliss Marker and sponged in Soft Suede.
I used the stamped imaged from the Awesomely Artistic set in Memento set as the focal point for this card and I coloured it in using Blender Pens with Blackberry Bliss and Old Olive.  Then fussy cut and highlighted a few of the flowers with crystal effects.  I made a little frame using some Whisper White scraps sponged with Smoky slate.  The Dragonfly the little flower disc and the sentiment were all stamped with Memento.
I coloured them using the aqua painters in the same Blackberry Bliss and Smoky Slate but the Dragonfly I did with Bermuda Bay.  I then fussy cut and layered everything up put some Linen Thread for a little more something and for the pretty wings I used the scrap from assembling the photopolymer sets for the wings.  I coloured it in using Bermuda bay and thenn went over it with Crystal Effects to make It stay.  So there you have it.  I hope you like and please be sure to leave a message for me as I love feedback.

Next up on the blog is the lovely Rose
http://stampingwithrosalie.blogspot.com.au/2015/05/2015-2016-annual-catalogue-sneak-peek.html

So until next time take care and Happy Stamping.  Love Tam xxx

Inspire, Create, Share -Convention

Welcome to my post, and thank you for joining us on this hop. This hop is all about our Inspire Create Share Convention, which has just recently been held on the fabulous Gold Coast, and was the first time we have had a worldwide (demonstrator) release of a catalogue. So exciting and soooo many exquisite new sets and products being released very soon (June 2).  This months hop has been hosted by our fearless leader Kylie Bertucci.  If you have got to my post through the line up correctly you will have come to my blog from our amazing Sue at Nigh Night Birdie (who made my favourite swap I got, don't tell Shannean or Louise that though (; ....)

I stayed with one of my very special friends I have made through Stampin' Up!, the view was great but nowhere near as awesome as the company.  The convention was full of so many great ideas and even more talented people!  One of the ladies in our group (Petra) was even a demonstrator in one of the demo booths. This was her display board.

We received some wonderful free products, some of which I have used below, but for now I want to give you a little sneak peek of my favourite dsp. It is very much 'my style' so can see me buying a lot of this paper. We also got some make and take packets but as yet I have not fit in making those as I much rather spend my time at convention chatting with the lovely people.

We also have A LOT of bundles in this catalogue so I am excited about buying many of those. One of those bundles coincidently is my favourite stamp set and possibly between the two my fave product in the catty, it's hard to say though because I have so many favourites.

Now what is convention without the awards night and after party. I managed to get a photo from the photo booth with some gorgeous ladies that feel like sisters and luckily have the same sense of humour as myself.  From left to right is Vicki, Michelle, Angela and myself.  Please note if I don't make another blog post one of these ladies have buried me as I have not yet asked permission to use it hehehe. But I'm sure you will agree we all look faboo.

Well I hope you have enjoyed sharing a few of my favourite bits of convention.  Be sure to hop on the the next crazy crafters blog, which is our beautiful Michelle at Hello Day Cards as I'm sure she has a lot more exciting events from convention to show you.

Until next time Happy Crafting xx Tam
